Grapevine Engagement: Amanda + Joe

I was still kicking around the idea of becoming a photographer when Amanda approached me to do her wedding photography.  Of course, I made sure she new the extent of my abilities and experience to date but she still wanted me to take pictures of her and Joe’s special day.  I am beyond thrilled to capture their love on April 24th.

Last week we went out to Grapevine Botanical Gardens to take some engagement photos.  The grounds are a lot smaller than the Dallas or Fort Worth gardens but are still beautiful and well kept.  The Grapevine Botanical Gardens had a unique charm and is a perfect place to take pictures or just relax and read a book.

Thank you Amanda and Joe for taking a chance on me!  You will always be my first, my first clients that is.  Yay!!  I hope you enjoy your pictures and know how much I appreciate the chance to capture the love you two share.

Love,

Molly

Amanda knows how to work it!

Joe, you don’t even have to try.

Black and white can really add a little something special.

Joe didn’t want to kiss because we were in public but we got him to do some eskimo kisses.

I love the tenderness in this shot.

Amanda you’re beautiful.

The sun was hard to get away from as you can see by Joe’s squint.  Thanks, Joe, for being a trooper.

Okay, I saved the best for last.  You two look so amazing and truly in love.

Thanks again you two!

In Search of a Career

I was never that child that said I want to be a _____ (fill in the blank with firefighter, doctor, teacher, etc.) when I grow up.  I always thought I would just grow into what I was suppose to be or eventually I would get there, there being some lifetime career.  During college I changed my degree once and changed my plan after college too many times to count.  I wanted to be a chemical engineer, physician’s assistant, nutritionist, and chemist just to name a few.  Now I’m two years out of school still without a career.  I know several friends who have had similar experiences, maybe it’s our generation?  But, I’ve decided to embrace this instability or  indecisiveness.  I’m not sure what you call it but I don’t think it has to be bad.  So I have changed my mind about what I want to do again and maybe, just maybe, this will be my last career move.

My life has led me to photography.  I fell in love with photography when I got married.  After working on my wedding album for months, I thought I can do this and it would be a lot of fun.  So here I am trying to start my own photography business.  I am enjoying taking pictures, creating a blogsite, and most of all just learning everything I possibly can about the art.  I miss the challenge of something new and complicated (starting a business is no simple task).  So here’s to searching for a career and not being afraid to try new things.

I want to share my journey with you and hope you’ll come along for the ride.  If your ready, buckle up because it could get a little crazy!

Sincerely,

Molly
